Reiki Certification
First Degree (Shoden)
The Reiki certificate training programs are all done in person in Oshawa Ontario. Usui Shiki Ryoho Level 1 is a practitioner's initiation into reiki and is open to anyone. The focus during Level 1 is on opening the energy channels on a physical level, allowing the practitioner to connect to the universal life force energy, which flows from the cosmos through the crown of the head and down to the heart and hands. Many reiki masters emphasize self-reiki as the goal of the Level 1 designation, encouraging students to focus on practicing reiki on themselves over a 21-day period after the class has been completed, thereby working through their own obstacles.
Time commitment: 8 hours

Second Degree (Okuden)
The Reiki certificate training programs are all done in person in Oshawa Ontario. Level 2 gives students the skills to practice reiki on others and open energy channels more deeply. Students also receive their symbols during this level. There are three sacred symbols taught during this class with each corresponding to a specific energy (power, harmony, distance). Students are expected to use these symbols to bring the universal energy of reiki into their everyday lives in more practical ways. The symbols can also help people provide reiki over long distances or send healing energy wherever it may be needed in the world.
Time commitment: 8 hours

Third Degree (Shinpiden)
The Reiki certificate training programs are all done in person in Oshawa Ontario. The Reiki Master Level is traditionally considered the teacher's level, and masters are able to walk away and attune new reiki practitioners. There are four additional sacred symbols taught during this class with each corresponding to a specific energy (Usui Master, Tibetan Master, Fire serpent and separation). It is recommended that this course is completed after a 1-2 year practice as mastery of Reiki is a lifelong pursuit and not a destination.
Time commitment: 12 hours (over 2 days)

What is an Attunement?
Unlike other holistic modalities, Reiki is passed down from master to student through what is known as an Attunement. The attunement opens you to receive and channel the Reiki (Rei or Spiritual, Sacred) (Ki or Energy) to yourself and others.
First Degree (Shoden)
In a reiki level 1 attunement, students are attuned to three different symbols, each representing a different aspect of reiki energy: power, harmony and distance.
Second Degree (Okuden)
In Reiki level 2 attunement, students are attuned to three different symbols, each with a different significance to opening your intuition and energetic pathways fully.
Third Degree (Shinpiden)
In Reiki level 3 attunement, students are attuned to three additional master symbols, allowing them access to an even higher level of Reiki energy, intuition and Divine connection.
What Does an Attunement Feel Like?
Receiving a Reiki attunement is a spiritual experience, and deeply personal for individual to individual. Students often report nothing to feeling a lightening and tingling throughout their body. The opening of energetic pathways during an attunement has the effect of enhancing other energetic healing and channeling pathways, and some students have reported an increased intuitive awareness, and innate psychic sensitivity.

Reiki attunement Preparation
How to Prepare for an Attunement?
Although it's not necessary to do anything in order to prepare to receive a Reiki attunement, most students may choose to connect or reestablish their own spiritual practice, to heighten the overall effects of the attunement and maximize its transformative power.
- Refrain from eating meat, fowl or fish for three days prior to the class. These foods often contain drugs in the form of penicillin and female hormones, and toxins in the form of pesticides and heavy metals, that make your system sluggish and throw it out of balance.
- Consider a water or juice fast for one to three days especially if you already are a vegetarian or have experience with fasting. Complete your fast before class; use the day before class to break the fast gently with soup, juice and/or salad. During class plan on a light diet of nutritious foods such as oatmeal or fruit in the morning, soup and/or salad for lunch and a light vegetarian dinner or with small portions of fish or seafood.
- Minimize your use of coffee, sodas and caffeine drinks or stop completely. They create imbalances in the nervous and endocrine systems. Use no caffeine drinks during class.
- Use no alcohol for at least three days prior to the placement or ignition and none during class.
- Minimize or stop using sweets. Eat no chocolate.
- If you smoke, cut back, or quit and smoke as little as possible during class.
- Meditate for half an hour each day for at least a week using a style you know or simply spend this time in silence.
- Reduce or eliminate time watching TV, listening to the radio, and reading newspapers.
- Go for quiet walks, spend time with nature, and get moderate exercise.
- Give more attention to the subtle impressions and sensations within and around you; contemplate their meaning.
- Release all anger, fear, jealousy, hate, worry, etc. up to the light. Create a sacred space within and around you.
While these steps are optional, they will improve your health. All of these preparations can help you be more receptive to the spiritual transformation and encourage the attunement to have profound, long-term impacts on your life and wellbeing.
