Greetings! My name is Terri and founder of Iam Light Energy Reiki in Oshawa Ontario. "Iam" a Reiki Master, Crystal energy and Chakra balancing specialist, Mindfulness Meditation Facilitator, Intuitive Life Coach, Death Doula, certified Canadian Reiki Association (CRA) Teacher, and a member of the International Association of Reiki Practitioners (IARP). I have a special focus on using Reiki to reduce work-related stress and anxiety for people of all ages, helping them heal their body, mind, and spirit.
My journey with Reiki began in 2018 when my cousin suggested I take a class. At that time, I had no idea what Reiki was, but being a lifelong learner, I was curious to explore it. Though it wasn't an instant revelation, I was captivated and dedicated myself to a 21-day practice with great enthusiasm. It took a few years for me to fully embrace Reiki and meditation as an essential part of my daily self-care routine for my own well-being and that of those around me. I used to feel guilty about prioritizing my own well-being, thinking it was selfish.
During a turbulent period of personal and professional challenges, I decided to take my Reiki level 2 class and restart my self-care practices. Through Reiki and meditation, I learned the importance of maintaining inner balance and quieting my mind. As a single mother to a daughter and a pampered pet, I struggled with depression, anxiety, mild OCD, and perfectionism, all while being a workaholic. Unfortunately, my imbalances affected my loved ones as well. With consistent daily Reiki and meditation practice, I noticed a significant improvement in my emotions, my racing thoughts, and my feeling of inadequacy. I was finally able to sleep peacefully and my mind found a sense of calm.
I am still a work in progress, but I am now better equipped to manage my emotions in situations that would have previously caused me to overreact or withdraw. Reiki has taught me to release worry, anger, and anything that no longer serves me. Once I experienced the healing powers of Reiki, I felt a strong desire to share it with others. If I can bring peace and balance to someone's life, then my purpose is fulfilled.
Reiki is a potent energy healer and I am grateful to have learned how to channel its energy. I look forward to the opportunity of sharing Reiki with you.
